Some Psychological aspects of Political Socialization of the Personality
Abstract
This article is dedicated to the psychological research of the political socialization phenomenon. Practice shows that an individual
becomes consciously involved in politics being a supporter of this or that political idea or theory. Unconscious moods, feelings and
motives have a big affect on making a political decision and on political behaviour of the individual. The political socialization concept
requires thorough analysis of intra-pcyhological personality mechanisms. There are different approaches in psychology widely used
in methodology of political analysis for analysis of the political socialization process. This article reviews behaviorism, cognitivism,
humanistic psychology and psychoanalysis. Existing political socialization methods ignore axiological and personality aspects, therefore
there is a need to continue research in this direction.
