To the historical background about color theories

Abstract

Summary: article is devoted to the color problems both in the nature and art. In this article in chronological sequence, the color nature, its impact on the person, perception of color, its color in creation of artworks images, in particular, in painting, a color role in the art, psychology and color psychophysiology – history of such questions’ studying is considered. The color theories from Democritus, Newton and Goethe to Chevreul and Seurat are studied by the author of this article regards to the modern color theory. The role and value of the color in XX century painting comes to light. Key words: color nature, light, paint, theory, color sight.
