Abstract

In this research, we consider the issue of observing the freedom of religion and beliefs, which are declared by the constitutions of modern countries. In this study we examined three types of the behavior inherent in them by the secular state, which are limitations in the governance of the state: the absolute separation of religion and state; Neutral attitude of the government; and form of secularism as laicism. We conducted a comparative analysis in different countries of the world on how to follow the rules of selected country, in the relationship between religion and government. Thus, we found that the wording of certain provisions correlates with the existence of state religion. The results obtained during the research show that the most states do not follow these rules on the basis of any of the norms chosen in this process.
Key words: constitution, laicism, religion, secularity, secularization.
