The neo-pagan movement in Kazakhstan: the case of the movement «Akzhol»

Abstract

This article describes the religious movements of destructive character, «Aкzhol» which appeared after the independence of Kazakhstan. In the process of analysing the activities of the movement Akzhol defined negatively influencing the parties on health and the human psyche. This movement made a pilgrimage to the holy places, manipulates the low level of religious education of the population and preach to solve any spiritual and material problems. In their funeral ceremonies use occult mystical elements. The cost of tours to Holy places, sacrifice, etc. are paidfrom the followers. Movement, Akzhol is actually a commercial sect destructive nature and proof of the affected people.
