Abstract

Giving refers to the bona fide voluntary offering of goods, services, and experiences between the recipient and the giver. The value and social meaning of a gift to both the recipient and the giver make the gift-giving process an important area of research. The tradition of gift exchange originated in human history and continues to this day. This process has been carried out in different ways in different periods in the world and has played a different role in each society. Kazakh people pay attention to people who share their joy and sorrow in observance of rituals, superstitions and customs. In honor of these good relations, the tradition of giving gifts has been used to express gratitude and express appreciation for respectful service. In our work we try to give examples of names, types, sphere of application of traditional Kazakh gifts and souvenirs. The relevance of our paper is to examine each gift from the point of view of social anthropology and explain its meaning and significance. In this work we will focus on each of the types of gift giving separately, analyze their function in Kazakh culture, show their difference. The research uses methods of data collection, systematization, analysis and formulation, guided by the works of foreign and domestic authors.
