The article examines the problem of tolerance in the context of modernization of modern Kazakhstani society, and also conducts a socio-philosophical analysis of the history of the concept of tolerance, its prerequisites and the phenomenon of tolerance. It should be noted that the success of the formation of a tolerant attitude today depends not on following the previous humanistic traditions of culture, but on a realistic and conscious assessment of current international political events. This study uses comparative-historical, analytical, axiological and survey methods.
Particular attention is paid to the influence of globalization processes and changes in the value system on the development of interethnic, intercultural and interfaith interaction. Based on empirical data collected in Almaty and Astana, the authors analyze the perception of the concepts of "tolerance" and "forbearance" among young people, identifying differences in their understanding. The need to clarify and popularize these concepts in educational and public programs is noted. The historical and philosophical foundations of the phenomenon of tolerance, including Western and Eastern paradigms, are also considered. A conclusion is made about the strategic importance of developing a culture of tolerance for the sustainability of public consciousness in modern Kazakhstan.
