Abstract

The article examines the issue of qut in the traditions related to family, upbringing and funerals, and interprets the concept of qut that is the core of traditional worldview.

In the course of the study, the author studies worldview background of well-meaning expressions, such as “qutty bolsyn!”, “qut darysyn!”. Accordingly, the author examines philosophical analysis of expressions starting with ‘qut’, such as "Adam-Qut", "Qutty Qonaq", "Qut Basy", "Qutty Kelin", "Qutty Qadam".

The article also emphasizes that the semantics of the word «zhan» derives from substantive of qut, which, in turn, is linked to the notion of Allah. Accordingly, a newborn child is associated with the concept of «qut keldi», a person is seen as a welcomed guest in the world (qutty qonaq), a young bride stepping into her new house is called «qutty qadam», while her face, when unveiled for the first time before the public, is «qut basy». In addition, the article also touches upon analysis of the song "Zhar-Zhar" in familial tradition.

The author emphasizes that the principle of kindness is embedded within Kazakh traditions, and the meaning of qut is a key concept of the traditional worldview.

The author analyses the concept of «Qut» in Kazakh traditions and considers it in the context of the Muslim worldview, noting the influence of the Muslim religion on Kazakh worldview and traditions. The researcher analyses how that the «Qut» teaching has enriched the ideological basis of the Kazakh traditions, such as those related to hospitality («qutty qonaq», «qudayi qonaq», «qonaqasy»), to the welcoming of the first steps of the child («ala zhip») or weddings («zhar-zhar»). The axiological positions of the ideological implications of Kazakh traditions are evaluated. The author uses semantic, philosophical, hermeneutics, comparative methods by means of classification, analysis, induction and deduction.
