Abstract

This article deals with the formation and development history of the Korean artistic culture monuments: architectural monuments of Pyongyang and Kaesong, Buddhist monasteries/temples in the Kymgang mountains; the Goguryeo tomb murals and wall paintings in Pyongyang and Tungo (the North-East China), historical palaces in Seoul, monuments complex in Gyeongju; cave temples filled with the oriental style of Seokguram, and Bulguksa. These artifacts are covered by our research scholarly apparatus to study the problem regarding the choreography function in mythology, and everyday life.
In the article, the image of dancer performing certain dance elements is of the greatest interest.
The above facts, and archaeological finds provide strong evidence of the existence of the dance art tradition in the depths of unrecorded time in ancient Korea. Having appeared, apparently, with a ritual purpose, they eventually turned to folk dances.
