Realization of the idea of national independence in the productions of «Enlik-Kebek»

Abstract

Conclusion: In this article the realization of the idea of national independence in the productions of the tragedy «Enlik-Kebek» by M. Auezov is studied. The playwright several times rewrote this tragedy, which made for the long stage life of the play. Starting from the day of the play’s first premiere which took place in the newly opened professional theatre in 1926, the play has become a great classical work showing the cultural peculiarities of the Kazakh nation, which has given inspiration to a number of actors and directors. The significant role of ‘Enlik-Kebek’ in the preservation of national spirit, development of social ideas and cultivation of humanistic and patriotic feelings is examined in great detail.
