Abstract

In this article authors consider Sufism as a phenomenon of the Islamic world subculture. Authors reveal the basic conditions and the reasons for the formation of Sufism as a subcultural phenomenon of the Islamic world. Authors examine the main aspects of the spiritual organization of the Sufi way of life.
Authors believe that in the conditions of formation of a new political and social organization of life, in the conditions of culture shock Sufism became stabilizing and adapting mechanism. Sufism developed a unique form of organization of life in civilization shock conditions, change of religious worldview, changes in spiritual guidance and system of values, rules and norms of society.
Authors believe that in the context of implementation of religious studies course in schools and educational institutions, an important role is played by an objective assessment of the role of religion in certain periods of the history of society, the definition of the role of religious groups in the formation of the idea of tolerance.
