Abstract

The article is devoted to the phenomenon of national identity in social philosophy. The author attempts to reveal the role and significance of the main components of national identity and its original basis, with the com­plex phenomenon of the volatile nature of the test. Revealed a connection between the individual and national identity, as a structural element of human society. The article shows the role of social relations in the forma­tion of national identity, as an ongoing process of gaining individual them­selves in social relations. The national identity of the individual is seen as a process of relating itself to a specific social organism, which resulted in forming an idea of some unified communications and part of a composite whole. The greatest importance of the individual's sense of belonging to a particular community of people, as well as their awareness on the subjec­tive level of its specific form of collective identity.
