Memories of J.M. Abdildin, an outstanding scholar, philosopher, and public figure

Abstract

This article is dedicated to the renowned Kazakhstani philosopher Zhabaykhan Mubarakovich Abdildin. Zh.M. Abdildin made an important contribution to the development of Soviet and Kazakhstani philosophy. He founded the Kazakhstani school of dialectical logic, served as Vice President of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and mentored an entire generation of scholars. For his contributions, he was awarded the highest state awards, including the Barys and Parasat Orders.
Zh.M. Abdildin is shaping a new philosophical movement distinguished by an original and completely new reading, understanding, and discussion of issues related to the relationship between formal and dialectical logic, the activity of the cognitive subject, and the socio-historical determinacy of the cognitive process. By exploring these and other complex issues of dialectics, Zh.M. Abdildin and his colleagues created the Almaty school of philosophy, which has made a name for itself through bold publications and presentations at international forums.
The primary goal of this article is to uncover the original contribution of representatives of the Almaty school of dialectics to the formation and development of scientific knowledge. The article's objectives are to substantiate the position that the works of these representatives fit within the context of global philosophical thought. Kazakhstani scholars, exploring and discussing complex issues of the dialectic of the cognitive subject and critically rethinking Marxism, have set themselves the task of philosophically rethinking the historical and cultural process from new methodological and theoretical perspectives. The novelty of their research lies in expressing the process of forming new knowledge through dialectical contradictions, problem formulation, and the search for methods to resolve them. Zh.M. Abdildin and his colleagues conducted and defined the criteria and principles for substantiating the principle, conducting a categorical analysis of the principle in the most developed physical theories, the theory of relativity, and quantum mechanics. The research and theoretical work of the Almaty School of Dialectic Logic marked the beginning of a rejection of ideological dogmas, becoming an example of civic courage and responsibility. It became the philosophical and theoretical foundation for future socioeconomic, spiritual, and moral changes. It was in the works of the Almaty School of Dialectical Logic that new philosophical ideas and propositions were first substantiated and presented, contributing to the formation of a critical worldview in society, creating an atmosphere of intellectual freedom and spiritual independence.
