Abstract

This article examines the impact of globalization processes on the na­tional identity at the present stage. Under the influence of globalization processes gradual leveling, forgetfulness, loss of national characteristic- sare going, on the other hand, globalization has those fragments of calls in which any national society is trying to preserve their identity. Awareness of their own ethnic identity is not something spontaneous, it is mostly caused by concrete public interests and the specific needs of the group, including the political, economic and cultural ones. It is through this functioning of ethnic identity in a greater or lesser extentbecomes the factor of the devel­opment of socio-cultural, political and economic processes. Components of ethnic identity are underthe influence of direct or indirect global factors, hidden threat. Mechanisms of preventing or minimizing of the negative effects of globalization on national identity are proposed.
