THE DEVELOPMENT OF FELT ART IN THE CONTEXT OF DIGITAL CULTURE: A BIBLIOMETRIC ANALYSIS

Abstract

The development of digital technologies has changed cultural production, artistic practices and ways of sharing knowledge, so that traditional crafts such as the art of wickerwork are increasingly presented and reimagined in a digital environment, gaining new prominence and arousing scientific interest. The aim of this study is to examine the structure, thematic evolution and trends of publications in the field of studies of felt art in the context of digital culture. The bibliographic data was obtained from the Scopus database and analyzed using the Bibliometrix package in RStudio, where the dataset included 69 publications selected through a selection process based on the PRISMA methodology. The results show that the field of research is mainly focused on topics related to traditional crafts, cultural heritage and intangible cultural heritage, and also shows that the art of wickerwork is most often associated with heritage preservation and textile studies, while digitalization, virtual representation, and digital heritage practices are emerging as new fields of research. Moreover, the fragmented nature of authorship is typical of emerging interdisciplinary research areas. Thematic mapping also indicates that traditional crafts and cultural heritage are the main and most developed research topics, and in contrast, digital technologies and approaches to virtual heritage are growing. but still developing areas of scientific research. The results also show that studies of felt art are increasingly becoming part of broader discussions in digital humanities. Preserving heritage and creative industries helps clarify the intellectual structure of felt art research and highlights new opportunities for interdisciplinary research at the intersection of traditional crafts and digital culture.
