The article reviews the research conducted by Kazakhstani scientists on the topic of tolerance. The features of tolerance research in Kazakhstan in the educational, legal, cultural, political, religious spheres and various methodological approaches are analyzed. Scientific results were obtained by conducting a qualitative analysis of articles in humanitarian journals from the lists recommended by the Science Committee of the Ministry of Education and Higher Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Based on this research method, we tried to answer the following questions: what definition do Kazakhstani scientists give to the concept of tolerance? What methods do Kazakhstani scientists rely on in studying tolerance? What is the role of education in the formation of tolerance in Kazakhstan? What state programs and legal documents are discussed in the articles aimed at promoting tolerance and what is their effectiveness? The analysis of publications allowed us to conduct some terminological classifications and identify the main priority areas that allow Kazakhstani scientists to formulate research tasks in the future. At the same time, the analysis of these publications allowed us to identify gaps in Kazakhstani science in this area.
Keywords: tolerance, values, globalization, state, culture, national identity.
